About the Opportunity
Jacobs are recruiting a Cost Efficiency & Avoidance (CE&A) Management lead (within the Project Controls discipline area) to join our Nuclear Power Programmes framework.Principal accountabilities:
1. A Cost Efficiency & Avoidance (CE&A) Management lead will be established on the project to create a process that drives identification of areas where the Project could save or avoid expenditure.
2. The process will be co-ordinated through the CE&A lead but Programme Directors, Project Managers and the Supply Chain will be empowered and accountable for identification and delivery of CE&A ideas.
3. This process will help instil a ‘Value for Money’ culture across the programme and embed checks in other processes.
4. The Cost Management team will be accountable for ensuring CE&A items are aligned to the reported Cost Forecast
5. Through the capturing of Cost Avoidance items, the Project will be able to record and log the value of instilling this culture which would normally not be recorded, and the impact lost
Here's What You'll Need:
6. Educated to Degree level (preferable) and Member of Professional body (APM)
7. Significant experience working within a similar position in a large project delivery environment, e.g. Capital New build projects, major civil projects
8. To be able to clearly demonstrate understanding of contract requirements NEC3/GC works
9. Expert systems knowledge of computerised project and document control and reporting systems, with emphasis on scheduling, cost monitoring and earned value analysis using Primavera P6
10. Experience in programme/project controls for complex programmes or similar project portfolios
11. Previous experience working in a similar Contractor-facing role with responsibilities requiring direct Contractor interface
12. Worked in a client-facing role with responsibilities requiring direct client/stakeholder engagement
13. Broad spectrum of skills in the project controls environment with a PMCM or EPC experience base
