Are you an enthusiastic and motivated healthcare professional looking for a new opportunity? Our friendly Pre-Op Assessment Department is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Support Worker to join our team.
Main duties of the job
The Health Care Support worker will deliver direct patient care within the pre-operative assessment environment for which the post holder has been deemed competent, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
They will participate in the delivery of fundamental nursing care to ensure the individual needs of patients are met within the pre-operative assessment setting.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Assisting with blood tests, MRSA swabs, and ECGs
* Running own clinic under supervision
* Performing administrative tasks as needed
* Excellent patient-focused communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing needs
* Passion for delivering excellent service
* Surgical experience is desirable
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 3 in healthcare or working towards this or equivalent qualification
* Proficiency with Word for Windows and other database applications
* Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues.
Desirable criteria
* NVQ Level 4 in Health and social care
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
Competencies
Essential criteria
* Phlebotomy competent
* ECG Competent
* Proficiency with Word for Windows and other database applications
Desirable criteria
* Previous experience in a health care setting.
* Familiar with medical terminology
* Ability to develop positive working relationships within the MDT
Functional Experience
Essential criteria
* Be able to demonstrate good communication skills, work within the multidisciplinary team
* Well-motivated, genuine desire to care for people and ability to manage self.
* Must be able to work within a team. Support and assist in the safe and effective delivery service provision
Desirable criteria
* Ability to work well in a team but also use your own initiative when needed
* Demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, accept and support changes within the role/service
* Ability to record and report relevant information regarding patient needs and assist in the formulation of their care planning.
