Some key work areas are:
1. Ensure client income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits.
2. Prepare and present cases to the appropriate statutory bodies and courts as appropriate.
3. Train to be a DRO intermediary.
4. Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, monitoring and report preparation.
5. Ensure all casework conforms to all Citizen Advice Quality Standards and the MaPS Quality Standard as appropriate.
6. Keep up to date with all legislation, policies and procedures and undertake appropriate training where appropriate.
7. Research and Campaigns - assist with research for campaigns work.
8. Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to understand statistics and data and be able to produce excellent reports for managers.
9. Attention to detail.
10. Good working knowledge of Google and other IT packages.
11. Working knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR.
12. Ability and flexibility to systematically manage a varied workload, prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure and work independently.
13. Recent experience of delivering advice, supervising advice and/or undertaking quality checks as a staff member or volunteer.
14. Proven ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control of meetings.
15. The ability to identify Social Policy issues arising from advice work and an ability to analyse and report on those issues.
