Milford Early Years is an established and privately owned nursery group with a great reputation. Due to expansion, we are now looking for experienced qualified Bank Early Years Practitioners to join our friendly and professional team.
Applicants will need experience of working with children aged 0-5 and will have in-depth knowledge of the EYFS, the Statutory Framework and other relevant legislation. You will have experience of having your own key group of children and know how to support each individual child's learning and development.
Main Duties
* Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery.
* Give support to other team members throughout the nursery.
* Work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop.
* Applicants must have a min level 3 qualification in Childcare and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent.
* Operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area following the Early Years Foundation Stage and Development Matters.
* To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.
* Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
* Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
* To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent evening, fundraising events etc.
* Be flexible; the position requires the staff member to work when required anytime between 8.30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
Qualifications
Essential
* Relevant level 3 Qualification as a min.
* GCSE Grade A-C Maths and English.
* A satisfactory enhanced DBS check which confirms suitability to work with children.
* Relevant safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications.
Desirable
* Level 4 or above qualification.
* Relevant food hygiene and health & safety qualifications.
Experience and Attributes
Essential
* Significant experience of working in a nursery or pre-school setting.
* Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs.
* Ability to plan and implement the EYFS curriculum.
* Effective spoken and written language and communication skills.
* A positive approach to behaviour management.
* Ability to work with parents and to encourage their involvement.
* Honest and reliable with proven time management skills.
* Commitment to team working and professional development.
* Demonstrates stability and commitment in previous roles.
* Achievement orientated with an ability to use own initiative.
* Evidence of leadership potential.
* Ability to write clear reports.
Desirable:
* Proven ability to build and lead a team successfully.
* Wider Childcare experience.
* SEN experience.
