Support & Development Worker
Location: Stornoway
Hours: 30 hours a week (flexible)
Salary: £27,298-£30,096 pro-rata (dependant on experience)
Pension Entitlement: 6% employer’s contribution
Annual Leave: 28 days plus 12 public holidays pro-rata
Resposible to: Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre Manager
The overall aim of this post is to provide support to anyone affected by sexual violence, with a particular focus on childhood trauma.
Summary of main responsibilities and activities:
• Provide one-to-one specialist support for survivors of sexual violence, using a trauma-informed approach which moves with the needs and wishes of survivor.
• Develop and support a drop-in service and group-work programme focusing on improving women and girls’ well-being.
• Work collaboratively in partnership with local agencies to share resources, raise awareness and understanding of the causes, consequences, and ensure there are appropriate responses to sexual violence.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation frameworks to evidence the impact of the support service for survivors.
• Record all information pertaining to WIRCC’s support services accurately and appropriately, in line with WIRCC’s support service information recording and Data Protection systems.
• Participate in regular support and supervision, and team meetings.
• Contribute to the running of the Centre, including supporting other projects as service requires.
• Any other duties as required by WIRCC Board of Directors.
