Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a primary school in Sunderland, supporting pupils with behavioural and social-emotional needs. This role is ideal for someone patient, resilient, and passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural challenges
2. Help create a positive learning environment and encourage emotional regulation
3. Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement behaviour management strategies
4. Build strong relationships with students to support their engagement and progress
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience working with children (preferably in a school setting)
2. Understanding of behaviour management techniques (or willingness to learn)
3. A compassionate, proactive, and patient approach
4. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
This is a full-time role running until July, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
