Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure designs are delivered within the agreed programme and budget.
2. Manage resource allocations to optimise team productivity.
3. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
5. Maintain effective stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Ensure all designs adhere to MCHW, DMRB, and local design guidance.
7. Undertake and authorise design information and reports, providing effective feedback.
8. Collaborate with the Senior Management Team on cross-office and multi-disciplinary projects.
9. Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
10. Comply with Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations, prioritising risk management and mitigation.
Job Requirements:
1. Pro-active management skills with confidence to lead teams effectively.
2. Excellent resource management capabilities.
3. Strong technical skills and experience in various highway design environments.
4. Proven project management skills, with expertise in delivering projects on time and within budget.
5. Sound independent judgment and a commitment to continuous improvement.
6. Experience in developing, mentoring, and supervising highway design staff.
7. Robust knowledge of Highways Technical documents within the DMRB.
8. Experience in managing the development of contract documents in line with relevant Highway contracts.
9. Capability to advise clients on technical issues in the highway structures sector at a senior level.
10. Proficiency with Civils 3D CAD package and experience in highway drainage design using MicroDrainage software.
Desirable Requirements:
1. Chartered Engineer status.
2. Valid UK driving licence.
