JOB ROLE: Support Worker
HOURS: Full Time 37.5 Hours
LOCATION: St Austell, Cornwall PL25
SALARY: £12.00 - £12.70* per hour
FULL UK MANUAL DRIVING LICENSE ESSENTIAL.
Please note we require a Male Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule.
About our Service:
A beautiful complex of 3 properties comprising of a converted 4-bedroom barn where 4 ladies live and 2 single occupancy annexes. There is a communal courtyard which is perfect for social gatherings and warm evening BBQ’s which are a firm favourite with the people we support there. The property is within walking distance of local amenities but situated in a rural location. 24/7 support with a variety of shifts available.
Our specialist Supported Living and Outreach service in St Austell, provides support for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health needs and Acquired Brain Injuries.
As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:
* Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
* Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
* Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
* Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
* Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
* Assisting with personal care as required.
* Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
* Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development.
