The Role:
Our client is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. In this role, you will:
* Provide support to vulnerable young people aged 11-18, helping to enhance their emotional wellbeing and fostering their aspirations to learn.
* Ensure safeguarding is a priority and develop an understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Implement strategies to assist students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, while understanding their Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Work as part of a team to manage behaviour effectively, following each student’s Behaviour Support Plan.
* Offer tailored support based on the individual needs of each student, ensuring their safety and supporting their access to learning activities.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who has:
* Experience working with children and young people.
* Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an advantage.
* A genuine interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
* The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and positively.
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* A good general standard of education (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths).
* Proficiency in IT.
