The College are looking for candidates interested in variable hours, on an ad-hoc basis, who are keen to explore Prison Education. HMP Winchester are currently looking for individuals with one or more of the below skill-sets to support their curriculum delivery- Functional Skills English – Entry 1 to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths – Entry 1 to Level 2 Digital Skills Art ESOL Mentoring Painting & Decorating Cookery Health & Safety Customer Service A teaching qualification would be desirable, however those willing to work towards who hold supporting subject specialism at degree level or equivalent or industry experience would also be considered - we can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential. ABOUT HMP Winchester… HMP Winchester is a Category B male local prison holding young adult and adult remand and convicted prisoners, serving the courts in Hampshire. It has an operational capacity of 685 spaces. There is a Category C resettlement unit, called Westhill, which holds 129 spaces. The Hearn unit, with 40 places, is a recent addition to Westhill and it houses Cat C and Cat D prisoners and those on ROTL. There is also a 24-hour healthcare in-patient facility with capacity for 10 prisoners. Prison education runs year-round, all-day Monday-Thursday and generally until lunchtime on a Friday. It operates in the main department and in various other locations around the prison.
