Finance Manager - 6 month FTC
Location: Buckinghamshire
Our reputable client is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team on a full-time 6-month basis. As Finance Manager, you will provide a high-quality, customer-focused finance service that meets business needs.
The Finance Manager will take a lead role in treasury management, finance process, controls, and systems improvement.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage and review financial accounts, cashflow, and reports, including monthly reports for the Leadership Team, draft Annual Reports, and bi-monthly performance updates for the Board.
2. Collaborate with budget holders to provide comprehensive accounting support, analyze variances, explore opportunities or challenges, and ensure resource allocation aligns with business needs.
3. Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and systems, maintain control account reconciliations, manage ledgers, and ensure robust financial controls are in place.
4. Lead external audits, oversee VAT compliance and reporting, and address complex VAT issues with professional advice as required.
5. Ensure operational liquidity through cashflow forecasting, oversee investment models, and maintain banking and credit card relationships.
6. Support organisational projects, represent finance in strategy-driven initiatives, and oversee the finance department's documentation and insurance policies.
Key skills and experience:
1. Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, financial legislation, VAT (including partial exemption).
2. Experience in preparing management and year-end financial accounts.
3. Skilled in managing small teams, fostering team development, and building productive relationships across all levels.
4. Proficient in preparing detailed reports, highlighting trends, resolving complex accounting issues, and proposing tactical financial management solutions.
5. Strong experience in process optimization, with a good understanding of computerized accounting systems and databases.
6. Effective at communicating complex financial concepts clearly and concisely, with strong organizational abilities to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced environments.
7. Highly numerate, detail-oriented, and skilled in using PC tools like Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel at an advanced level.
