Your new role
The Interim Logistics Director will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end movement of goods and for the day-to-day operations of the Logistics team. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to work to tight deadlines while keeping attention to detail and punctuality. You will be responsible for analysing shipping delivery times, working closely with distribution to optimise dispatch functions and set and meet cost, productivity and accuracy targets. You will proactively identify future opportunities and challenges within the logistics landscape and develop mitigation strategies when necessary. You will be responsible for ensuring operations are running smoothly, guiding your team accordingly and encouraging motivation and morale.
What you need to succeed
To succeed in the role of the Interim Logistics Director, experience within the FMCG market is desirable but not imperative. You will need to demonstrate your ability to lead and manage a team through showing effectivemunication and interpersonal skills. You are expected to have the ability to work independently and as a team, handle multiple projects and have negotiating and influencing skills. The Interim Logistics Director needs excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills. You will need to have a ‘can do’ attitude and be adaptive in different environments in order to hit the ground running from day one.
