We're recruiting for Advanced Mental Health Practitioners at Band 7. As part of the Rapid Response team, you'll offer high-quality mental health assessments & short-term intervention to young people experiencing mental health crisis. We work closely with wider CAMH services, local authorities, education colleagues & other services.
The role is based at Fir Tree House in Slough when working days and Wexham Park Hospital in Slough when working nights.
Current shift patterns are:
* Assessment Clinician 09:00 - 20:00
* Late Assessment Clinician 11:00 - 22:00
* Follow Up shift 09:00 - 17:00
* Shift Lead 08:00 - 19:00
* Weekend/Bank holidays 08:00 - 17:00
* Night Shift 20:15 - 08:15
You'll be allocated a combination of shifts on a rota basis to complete your contracted hours.
You'll use your excellent communication skills & a compassionate nature to to give full support to patients & their families.

Main duties of the job
No day will be the same, so here are a few duties of the role
* Provide high quality assessment and clinical formulation.
* Respond to crisis calls from Young people and their families
* Provide short term interventions/Follow ups when required and make on going referrals based on the clinical needs.
* Ability to manage and lead the shift by prioritising and delegating tasks.
* Identify appropriate interventions for young people and their families as well as the improvement of resilience and recovery which mitigates risks to themselves or others
* Maintain and develop key relationships with professionals external to the area of service, as well as patients and their families
* To be responsible for the accurate maintenance of clinical record keeping and ensuring all systems, records and data are stored and transferred correctly

* Registered Mental Health Nurse (OR)

Previous Experience
Essential
* Significant post-qualifying experience of undertaking comprehensive assessment of mental health needs, developing care plans, and offering appropriate support based on psychological formulation of presenting difficulties.
* Experience of working with service users with high-risk presentations and undertaking risk assessment and risk management plans.
* Experience of hard-to-reach diverse community groups and individuals with emerging complex needs, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities and safeguarding.
* Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environment.
Desirable
* Experience of working within mental health settings supporting children, adolescents and their families.
* Experience of providing supervision or leadership to others.
* Experience of contributing to service improvement initiatives.

* Knowledge and skill to assess acute mental health crisis, and deliberate self-harm at Tier 3 levels.
