Materials and Wheelset Assistant Freightliner Heavy Haul Ltd Location: Southampton Who are we looking for? Freightliner is looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join our expanding team. In this role, you will support the Materials and Transport team with administrative and day to day tasks. Your responsibilities will include materials management, report creation and updates, booking and ordering materials, and general office duties to ensure smooth operations across the site and team. What we expect from you on your first day: Vehicle driving license (Forklift license desirable but not essential as training can be provided) Strong communication and collaboration skills. Good IT proficiency, with the ability to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A positive and proactive attitude. What your key responsibilities will be: Prepare and update reports to assist the Wheelset Controller and Materials team, ensuring accuracy in Excel and AMS systems white meeting deadlines. Oversee stock management including stock count and booking deliveries. Raise work and supplier orders. Review quotations and supplier orders to maintain an up-to-date system. Liaise with suppliers and internal stake holders to foster a collaborative and harmonious working environment. Keep material information updated on AMS and communicate any changes. Track invoices and purchase orders to provide financial data to the Materials Manager and Wheelset Controller to monitor costs and KPI’s. Operate a forklift truck to load and unload deliveries.
