An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Advanced Practice Team for a Band 6 Specialist Nurse. This is a permanent post. The IBD team has recently seen a significant expansion with the addition of a Consultant Nurse and a biologics coordinator.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a passion and commitment to provide high quality, evidence-based care for this group of patients.
The team works across the county, managing a busy Advice line service and a large cohort of patients on Biologics. They run Rapid Access and drug counselling clinics and provide support to the Gastroenterology ward and the Medical Day Unit.
You do not need to be an expert in IBD to apply for the post. Training, education, and support will be provided; however, a keen interest in Gastroenterology/IBD would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
1. To assess patients' individual needs planning, implementing, and evaluating care through the provision of direct clinical care that is evidence-based.
2. Manage an Adviceline offering support, advice, and information.
3. Manage a blood monitoring service for patients on immunosuppressants and biologics.
4. Conduct nurse-led clinics.
5. Provide support for in-patients.
6. Provide support and education to the Gastroenterology ward and Medical Day Unit.
