We are currently recruiting for our client in Chevington, Suffolk for a Residential Children's Home Registered Manager.
Job description
Working as a Team Manager, you will lead and manage efforts to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people across all aspects of their development. This involves overseeing the overall operation of the home, effectively utilizing resources to create a positive, inclusive environment where children and young people can flourish.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Ensuring that staff deliver positive, sensitive care to the children and young people in the home in accordance with company values, legislation, policies, and procedures.
2. Overseeing the management of childcare practices and ensuring that high professional standards are maintained within available resources.
3. Managing a home that meets, respects and affirms children's physical, emotional, identity, cultural, religious and educational needs in accordance with their plans for care.
4. Working effectively with Ofsted and within regulations to ensure the home delivers the highest standard of care.
5. Overseeing and contributing to the evaluation and management of risk and the protection of young people from harm, including the provision of a safe and stimulating living environment and teaching children and young people to become 'risk competent'.
6. Ensuring positive behaviour is encouraged and manage any challenging behaviour in accordance with legislative and organisational policy and practice requirements.
7. Ensuring that the service works with professionals around the young people placed to build robust plans to support the placement whilst the young person is experiencing crisis.
8. Promoting effective internal and external communication.
9. Contributing to the management and development of residential services as a member of the Care Management team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
1. Minimum of a relevant qualification (minimum - childcare related Diploma at Level 3).
2. If not already held, attain the Diploma in Leadership (Level 5) or other Management qualification within 2 years of appointment.
3. 2 years experience working in a position relevant to the residential care of children in the last 5 years.
4. Minimum of 1 years experience of supervision and management of others in a care role.
5. Experience of working in a residential or field social work setting relevant to the job.
6. Experience of working with young people who have experienced trauma and disrupted attachments.
7. Ability to demonstrate understanding of and consistently work to the values.
8. Ability to understand challenging behaviour as communication of unmet need.
9. Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
10. Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
Salary:
£42,119 - £45,250 depending on skills and experience.
Max job rate is £48,978, performance related.
Hours: 37 hours per week.
