We are recruiting for a Nurse Manager - Haemodialysis with our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post-holder will be an experienced renal trained nurse, working in partnership with the Matron as an integral part of the Nurse Management team, promoting the principle of cross-site collaboration and teamwork. They will be accountable for the line management of nursing staff, demonstrating clinical and managerial leadership, enabling the units to provide the highest standards of care and minimizing any risks to service users.
The Nurse Manager will be accountable for the budget management for the Lister Dialysis unit and provide effective leadership for all nurses, clinical support workers, admin staff, and ward housekeepers employed by the service.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Directorate's Management team, providing expert advice and direction on nursing and clinical governance issues and be a role model for renal nurses, representing the department and Trust as required and identified by the Lead Nurse, Clinical Director, and General Manager.

Main duties of the job
1. Have overall responsibility for the operational management of clinical service delivery at unit level.
2. Provide excellent standards of nursing care and expertise, both in delivering direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for the higher needs and dependency of our patients.
3. Provide appropriate intervention, support, and clinical expertise to deliver a safe clinical pathway that promotes high-quality care through role modelling, expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration, and providing education.
4. Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols, and guidelines.
5. Be accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/department level, through ongoing vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy.
6. Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.
7. Be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialized knowledge in caring for patients with complex needs.
8. Provide advice and support to all staff working in the area.
9. Establish effective communication links with the Unplanned division management team.

Person Specification
Experience
* Significant experience in caring for patients requiring renal nursing, demonstrating a special interest in haemodialysis treatment.
* Evidence of an understanding of expenditure and budget management.
* Involvement in audit/research and willingness to present findings at meetings and conferences.
Skills
* Ability to develop own skills and knowledge.
* Demonstrate a flexible approach, able to react to the changing needs of the department, ensuring sustainability.
* Demonstrate evidence of strong leadership and motivational skills, ability to lead and motivate a large clinical team.
Knowledge
* Has in-depth knowledge of managing a busy dialysis unit.
* Able to recognize the training requirements of the department and provide support to develop the team.
* Understanding of risk management, health and safety, and other clinical governance issues.
* Knowledge of local and national health care initiatives/innovation to improve patient care, experience, and safety.
* Ability to recognize pressure in the work environment and manage in a professional manner.
* Evidence of working with and enforcing Human Resources policies and procedures.
* Financial management ability and competence, including understanding of rosters, skill mix, etc.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse educated to Part 1 of the NMC Register.
* Post registration qualification in renal specialty including recognized Renal course.
* Teaching qualification- Mentorship and preceptorship/998/Practice assessor course.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Managerial and leadership qualification/relevant experience.
