We have a new contract opportunity with a healthcare client who operates hospitals. While the client is not directly responsible for hard FM (Facilities Management), they play a critical role in ensuring operations run smoothly.
As part of this contract, ISS is looking to appoint two plumbing engineers to provide expert maintenance services across client properties in Barnet, Enfield, and Harringay, with potential for mobile assignments across these locations.
This contract, currently set for a specific term, holds the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position, depending on future needs.
Job Description
As a Plumber on this contract, you will manage plumbing and related building services at the sites.
Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and overseeing both routine maintenance and installations, ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of building operations.
This role prioritises a world-class approach to building services maintenance, upholding the highest standards for healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned plumbing equipment in accordance with plumbing codes, diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
* Repair cracked pipes and open clogged drainage - may work from ladders, scaffolding, hydraulic man lifts and other high-rise equipment.
* Observe plumbing systems and fixtures in operation to detect failures or locate causes of malfunctions. Dismantle devices and remove defective parts.
* Inspect used parts and equipment for changes in calibration, dimensional requirements and manufacturer's specifications.
* Test and calibrate systems and equipment to ensure proper system operations using test equipment or precision measuring instruments.
* Maintain complex plumbing systems including equipment washers and steam cleaning devices, air compressors, hydraulic lifts, water and drainage systems, and sprinkler systems.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Plumbing and domestic heating technician (level 3).
* Significant experience in providing mechanical building services maintenance to include fault finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing.
* Significant previous experience in providing reactive and PPM building services maintenance.
* Experience of working within FM or building services within commercial properties.
* Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements.
* Evidence Training and competence in managing High Risk Works (Mechanical).
* Ability to explore a situation, assess and offer different options to formulate a plan that meets or exceeds objectives and expectations.
