What's involved with this role: Temporary Safeguarding Coordinator/ Admin x2 - Adult Social Care Reference no: Brent 5256855 Pay Rate: £18.66 per hour PAYE 36 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 1-2 months City: WEMBLEY, LONDON Deal professionally with phone calls, emails and other correspondences to the Safeguarding Adults Team, such as simple queries from other agencies, members of the public regarding referrals and referring more complex queries to the Safeguarding Adults Risk Manager (SARM). Refer cases that do not meet the adult safeguarding threshold to appropriate services. Process safeguarding concerns work steps on Mosaic. Communicate the outcome of safeguarding concerns and other referrals to the referrers. Key Responsibilities: Identify the need for office support tasks and take proactive steps to provide cover for colleagues when required, duties may include meeting arrangements, note taking, minute taking and data management. Apply the council wide administrative processes which support the work of the service e.g. sending out letters etc. Maintain IT systems, including local and corporate IT systems, spreadsheets, databases and text files. To be able to produce appropriate outputs, e.g. reports. Update IT systems to ensure that individual records are up to date with information required for statutory returns and local datasets, ensuring the data is up to date, accurate and reliable. Scanning and uploading of documents to the information system, ensuring accuracy and appropriate disposal of paper documents Dealing professionally with incoming phone calls, emails and correspondence; taking messages in an efficient manner and redirecting calls to the appropriate officer where necessary. Respond to enquiries sensitively and efficiently, from professionals and customers on the role and function of the service, either orally or in writing, taking into account individual circumstances. Maintain strict confidentiality of all records produced and received and be aware of requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998. Make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service, this will include working flexibly and positively to achieve the objectives of the council. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and all employees are required to act in such a way that at all times safeguards the health and well-being of children and vulnerable adults. Qualifications: NVQ level 3 or equivalent plus practical experience Knowledge: Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults processes and thresholds and eligibility criteria for adult social services and understanding of mental capacity assessments Knowledge of full range of administrative procedures and systems gained through training Experience: Experience of working in Social Care, Criminal Justice or Health sector or related organisations in the private, voluntary or independent sector. Experience of minute taking at safeguarding or similar customer-focused meetings Experience of Safeguarding adults. Experience of multi-disciplinary work and working within a multicultural environment. Skills & Abilities: Proven ability to initiate administrative systems. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with other professional groups, providing effective administration to support the operation of the service Ability to work on own initiative and to work effectively with supervision, to organise and prioritise own tasks within a busy environment, managing a varied and demanding workload with competing priorities.
