Venesky-Brown’s client, a retail organisation in Rutherglen, is currently looking to recruit a First Line IT Support on a permanent basis on a salary of £25,000-£30,000/annum. This role will be based onsite in Rutherglen.
Responsibilities:
- User management accurately covering the needs for all new starters, internal moves and service changes (e.g. new laptop, upgrades etc)
- Collect as much information about your customers’ issue and resolve the problem as soon as is reasonably possible; this will involve solving both hardware and software faults to ensure continuity of service for users
- Support the German team in ensuring an accurate inventory is maintained to be aware of what equipment has been issued and to which team member
- Support the German IT team with the UK procurement process
- To troubleshoot, monitor and maintain systems, printers and networks; carry out routine housekeeping and proactive checks on IT systems, printers and networks
- Responsible for processing leavers and removing accounts from IT managed systems and ensuring all equipment is returned
- Assist with the development and implementation of IT projects
- Work closely with the leadership team in proactively identifying improvements to IT systems, processes and culture and preventing service fails
- Escalate to second line support (Germany) when an issue cannot be resolved locally; monitoring to ensure they have been effectively managed through to completion
- Support store openings and annual stock take activities
- Continuous personal improvement; maintaining and improving IT knowledge and seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills:
- Experience working in an IT support role.
- To be able to work independently, using your own initiative, and as part of wider UK team and liaise with the German IT team.
- A desire to learn and adapt.
- To be proactive and consider the best approach to minimise disruption to employees.
- Be self-motivated, forward thinking and empathetic to support the continuous needs of the team.
- To be Committed to customer satisfaction and success.
- Strong people and communication skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally within the UK and annually to Europe/Germany.
Desirable Skills:
- Driving licence - not essential but preferable.
