Early Years Nursery Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 5 – St Clare's Pre-School
The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join St Clare's Nursery, as a Level 5 Childcare Lead Practitioner Apprentice
St Clare's Pre-School has been operating since 1971 and opened an adjacent Nursery setting in 2018. Both settings operate from premises in a residential area of Leigh Park, in Hampshire. The Nursery is providing childcare for funded and non-funded children from 9 months – 2.5 years. Our current staff team holds qualifications ranging from Level 2 to Level 6.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Qualified practitioner with previous leadership experience who will undertake the operational running of the nursery
2. Working with ages 9 months to 2.5 years of age
3. You will need to be a hands-on practitioner taking on all aspects of the practitioner role including personal care, assisting at mealtimes, catering for all of the children’s needs, and being a role model and mentor to the staff team.
4. Ability to manage a staff team, deploy staff, ensure ratio’s, produce rotas, participate in supervisions and lead staff meetings.
5. You will be the safeguarding lead, experience essential, current certificate or willingness to train.
6. Knowledge and experience of working with and supporting children with SEND.
7. Must be flexible to meet the demands of the role and enjoy a challenge
8. Must be driven to build and develop the business with us to meet demands
9. Work alongside the Preschool lead practitioner and business manager to ensure smooth operational management of the overall business.
10. Work towards developing the setting and business further and always looking to make improvements and meet ever changing demands.
11. Plan the curriculum and day to day activities with the staff team
12. Administration and paperwork to be kept and maintained at a high standard, registers, risk assessments, children and staff records.
13. Lead practitioner for the holiday club, helping to organise fun exciting days, outings and activities having the flexibility in approach to operate differently.
14. Looking for a passionate person, someone that can build a team as well as Lead and support and motivate a team of practitioners.
15. Driven to succeed and make a difference to the outcomes of children, prioritising their welfare, safety and development.
16. Someone with excellent communication skills, and who is able to confidently communicate with parents and visiting external agencies.
Essential Skills:
17. Experienced, confident and knowledgeable in child development and the EYFS
18. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years Childcare and Development is essential
19. Safeguarding level 3 or 4 training can be provided.
20. GCSE’s in Maths or English or Equivalent
21. Previous management/leadership experience
Hours;
22. Business operational hours are 08:00-16:00 Monday-Friday, you will need to work flexibly around these.
