Hybrid - The Homestead, York / Homeworking (1 to 2 days per week in person in The Homestead)
About the role
We’re seeking a Payroll Assistant to join our in-house shared services team, delivering 3 payrolls to around 700 colleagues. You will be part of a supportive and busy team in a fast-paced environment.
As our Payroll Assistant, you’ll accurately process timesheets, expenses, absence data, starters, leavers, and any other changes onto the payroll system. You will assist with balancing and reconciliation checks and the inputting and checking of monthly payroll data.
You will deal with straightforward payroll queries, referring more complex queries to the Payroll Officers or Team Leader. In addition to routine tasks such as filing and data saving, you’ll also work closely with managers and the embedded People Teams to ensure all records on the payroll system are up to date, accurate, and comply with the Data Protection Act.
About you
We’re looking for someone with end-to-end payroll experience who thrives in a busy environment to provide effective and professional payroll administration. You must be customer-focused with great time management skills. You’ll have a good understanding of payroll legislation and be comfortable using computerized payroll systems packages. Experience with Civica payroll software would be a distinct advantage.
With a positive, friendly approach and good interpersonal skills, you’ll have a natural desire to offer good service and build strong relationships with people at all levels across the organization.
