The vacancy
The role of Patternmaker/Woodworker is to support the Manufacturing Materials team and produce patterns and moulds from various materials. The Patternmaker/Woodworker will be confident with composite materials, metalwork, and woodwork, carrying out set tasks in line with manufacturing instructions.
Role responsibilities:
* Construct patterns and moulds from metal, wood, and composite materials from drawings and CAD data.
* Use a CNC programming machine to complete set tasks.
* Carry out day-to-day production as required, in line with manufacturing instructions.
* Maintain tools and equipment, including cleaning and safe storage.
* Liaise with customers and contractors.
* Assist in research and development duties when required.
* Reduce waste and ensure all waste materials are disposed of in accordance with company and legislative procedures.
* Adhere to recommended stock controls as informed by the Pattern Shop Manager.
* Maintain a good standard of housekeeping, ensuring the working environment is clear of waste.
Candidate requirements:
* Good knowledge of composites, woodworking, and metalwork.
* Experience in setting up and operating machines such as sanders, circular saws, band saws, mills, and lathes.
* Able to work effectively, both as part of a team and autonomously, consistently to high standards of accuracy and quality.
* Experienced in CNC programming, preferred but not essential.
* Able to demonstrate high attention to detail.
