General Cover Teacher
Portsmouth
SEMH School
Academics Portsmouth are seeking an engaging and flexible General Cover Teacher to carry out a full-time contract in an established SEMH School in Portsmouth, starting ASAP. The school caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and other associated needs so having experience working in this kind of environment, or a keen interest in working with children that have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs is very beneficial.
This would be for an on-going, supply contract so we are looking for someone who is available and happy to commit to a long term, full time, term time role!
The school will consider both Primary and Secondary trained teachers as they cater for a varying range of learning levels. You will be required to teach various lessons across KS3 and KS4 so must be someone who is able to think on their feet, adapt their lessons to suit the children's needs and enjoy the flexibility of teaching subjects across the curriculum.
Due to the nature of the environment this position is suited to someone who has worked with pupils with challenging behaviour in the past, or someone who is looking to work in a unique setting. Class sizes are smaller than in a mainstream secondary school to ensure the students are supported in the best way possible, with a number of support staff on hand in the classroom.
To be considered for the role of General Cover Teacher, you must have or be willing to submit an enhanced DBS check. You must also have the right to work in the UK and be local to the Portsmouth area.
If you are a passionate, experienced General Cover Teacher who enjoys working in an alternative setting, please apply by sending your CV using the link provided.
