Sales Manager working from home We are looking for an entrepreneurial self-starter to generate sales and manage orders of our customized neckties, scarves and accessories. This is a full-time position (Mon - Fri, 9am to 5pm) working from home with occasional UK travel. James Morton supply neckties and accessories to hundreds of schools, companies and sports clubs across the UK and abroad. All our products are "made to order" working with customers to agree their design and liaising with our UK manufacturing arm to ensure each product meets our client’s specifications and delivered on time. What you’ll be doing: Manage inbound sales enquiries via the website, email & telephone Convert sales enquiries into quotations based on chosen product, quantity and design (information provided) Work with our in-house design team to create PDF designs to be sent to customers prior to production (communication rather than creative skills required) Liaise with our UK factory to place orders and monitor through to customer delivery (a process of around 6 weeks) Monitor customer payments (typically via bank transfer) to ensure timely payment with prompt follow-ups as required Generate new sales through researching & contacting organisations who may be interested in our products (e.g. schools, hotels) Weekly call with Company Directors to update on sales leads and orders and explore other areas of opportunity Shape future products and sales strategy to grow the overall business The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience: Experience working in customer sales & service environments Confident and approachable manner with prospective customers Excellent verbal and written communication skills Well organised maintaining clear records of sales leads and active orders (supported by our online CRM system) Self-starter with a strong level of personal drive - there is only 1 sales manager position interfacing across customers, our design team, UK factory and external marketing agency Computer literacy including use of Email, Excel (basic) and online CRM system. Comfortable calling organisations to make enquiries (establish need for our product, interest in receiving samples & prices etc.) Manage logistics of various marketing campaigns to win business (supported by our external marketing agency) This role is taking over from our existing sales manager who has been with the business for over 10 years and will shortly retire. There will be a transition period to learn about our products and operation and ensure a successful handover. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s a self-starter, is motivated by managing and growing sales (bonused) and is comfortable to work from home.
