This is what you’ll actually do As a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality and safety standards throughout every stage of production. You’ll be responsible for carrying out thorough quality assurance checks, ensuring that every detail adheres to customer specifications and internal procedures. This includes conducting and recording daily, weekly, and monthly checks on essential production equipment, such as scales, temperature probes, and refrigeration systems, while also downloading and analysing weekly data logger information. Part of your day will involve leading daily taste panels to ensure our products meet the required sensory standards and meticulously reviewing production paperwork for consistency and accuracy. You’ll carry out microbiological, allergen, and hand swabs, preparing samples for laboratory analysis and following up on results. In addition, you’ll perform raw material inspections, ensuring quality standards are maintained from the very beginning of the production process. As part of your role, you’ll oversee the positive release of products, managing the reject and non-conformance database to track and address any identified issues efficiently. You’ll also conduct internal audits, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), CCP (Critical Control Points), and Traceability audits, ensuring any corrective actions are properly implemented and monitored. Collaboration will be key, as you’ll work closely with the Operations, NPD, and Technical teams to ensure all quality control measures are met and maintained. Your attention to detail will support the accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of quality data, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility will also be essential, as you’ll provide support across different technical areas and shifts when required, maintaining a strong focus on delivering excellence at every stage. Your contribution will ensure that Nicholas & Harris continues to produce exceptional products, consistently meeting customer expectations and quality standards. Ideally this is you Previous experience within a Food Manufacturing environment. Level 2, Food Safety Qualified. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong written English and record-keeping abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel). Organised, with excellent attention to detail. Ability to problem-solve and analyse data effectively. Flexible and adaptable to cover other areas within the Technical team when required.
