Locality Lead Immunisation Nurse - Derbyshire
The Locality Lead Nurse works as a member of the Immunisation Team to support the safe delivery of large-scale programmes within community and educational settings in accordance with Department of Health Green Book against Immunisation and Local Services Specifications.
To work closely with and support the Clinical Lead in all the work on the National schedule vaccinations for Children, and work with outbreaks in the community setting. Providing support to clinical teams.
The role will involve close working relationships with IntraHealth's Lead and Deputy Immunisation nurse.
Our work takes place in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, and community venues to deliver the National Childhood Immunisation Programmes and various other Immunisation contracts.
May be required to attend Contract meetings with Commissioners and keep them informed of clinical developments within the contract.
Main duties of the job
* To support and supervise immunisation teams, ensuring a safe and effective service using service user feedback to improve patient experience.
* Monitor quality, compliance, and performance reporting risks to the Operations Manager Clinical/deputy lead nurse.
* Provide support to staff within the IntraHealth Immunisation Teams to deliver an equitable and quality service to children, young people, and families.
* Promote and support an effective team ethos with excellent communication skills, so that team objectives are understood and achieved.
* To support, influence and improve the quality of the learning environment by providing support and supervision as well as educational and professional development for the team.
* Support and deliver aspects of clinical education, staff induction and support assessment of learners and clinical staff, to ensure that the workforce has the required training, skills and competencies to deliver the immunisation programme.
* Ensure that the service delivered meets the requirements of the national and local safeguarding agenda.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current Nurse Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Mentorship Preparation/ENB 998 or equivalent
* Trained in accordance with Immunisation National Standards
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Experience
* At least two years experience working within Immunisation teams.
* Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Immunisation programmes and their safe delivery.
* Evidence of own professional development.
* Ability to research evidence and evaluate best practice.
* Experience in working with PGDs and PSDs.
* Supervising and supporting nurses and HCAs to develop best practice.
* Knowledge of NHS service delivery across a range of disciplines/functions.
* Experience of identifying risks, anticipating issues, and looking at solutions.
* Presentation skills.
* Attending meetings with Commissioners and PHE.
