About the area The Health, Safety and Wellbeing team ensures the health and safety of UWA’s staff, students, and partners. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and compliance across campuses, the team upholds the University's commitment to a safe and healthy environment in line with the WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020. About the opportunity Provide strategic guidance to drive safety best practices and compliance across UWA’s infrastructure projects. Lead safety initiatives and develop robust emergency and risk management protocols. Engage with stakeholders across the University, including senior leaders, to promote a proactive safety culture. About you A degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Science, Health, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices in infrastructure and emergency management. Proven ability to develop and manage safety systems with expertise in auditing, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Experience managing fire and emergency safety systems in line with industry standards. Exceptional communication, planning, and organisational skills, with experience in conflict resolution and coaching. Special Requirement Current “C” or “C-A” class driver’s licence. Occasional travel within Western Australia. Flexibility for occasional after-hours work.
