Anderson Knight is currently a Supply Chain and Production Manager to join one of our clients in North Ayrshire.
As the Supply Chain and Production Manager, you will oversee the entire supply chain and production process. This includes managing the procurement of materials, scheduling production, ensuring inventory control, and optimising manufacturing processes. You will work closely with various departments, such as procurement, logistics, quality control, and sales, to ensure on-time product delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and manage end-to-end supply chain operations.
· Coordinate procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships.
· Monitor and analyse supply chain performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
· Manage logistics and transportation to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure the best prices and reliable delivery schedules.
· Oversee daily production operations, ensuring schedules are met and production targets are achieved.
· Develop and implement production plans to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime.
· Monitor production efficiency and quality, implementing continuous improvement strategies.
· Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
· Manage and lead the production team, providing guidance and training as needed.
· Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other departments to forecast demand and plan production schedules.
· Develop and maintain inventory management systems to balance stock levels with demand.
· Monitor production progress and make adjustments to schedules as needed to prevent shortages or overstocking.
· Manage production costs and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines
· Identify areas for cost reduction without compromising quality or production efficiency.
Prepare regular reports on production, supply chain performance, and financial outcomes for senior management.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and production planning.
* Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
