Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive changes in their lives? We are seeking to recruit an experienced Specialist Support Worker to join our refugee resettlement team. The United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme (UKRS) is a national programme whereby local authorities participate in hosting vulnerable refugees in need of protection. The caseworker will be responsible for working alongside the local authority in setting up accommodation and will offer ongoing support to the resettled families around accessing ESOL, setting up benefits, access to education, health and employment and general integration into the local community. The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate: Prepare rented properties in anticipation of the families arrival Coordinate an intensive two-week orientation service Support families in setting up their tenancies, moving in and settling in process Develop partnership working with key services within the Lancashire area to offer a multi-agency support package including translation and interpretation services Create an ongoing casework support package including needs and risks assessment Support the families to integrate into the local community and develop a network of support Accurately collate records and report outcomes to the local authorities and management team Be sympathetic to the needs of displaced and traumatised people Maintain confidentiality and be sensitive to the local community Attend regular meetings with key agencies and local authorities on behalf of The Salvation Army In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.
