Security Operative, Facilities Directorate
WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK DAYS AND NIGHTS
The Security Support Service Team is based at Stockport NHS Foundation Trusts, Stepping Hill Hospital.
Based within the Facilities Department, the newly re-structured Facilities Teams are continually evolving and is an exciting and vibrant department to work in.
The post holder will be part of the Trust's Security Service Team; they will be professional, highly motivated, and an enthusiastic team member.
As a Security Operative, you will play an important role in delivering the high standard of safety and security for all patients, staff, and visitors in line with the Trust's Values.
Main duties of the job
This can be a demanding role that is as rewarding as it is challenging.
Working 37.5 hours on an internal rotation, covering night and days, your duties will consist of:
1. Responding to Security incidents where you will be required to attend and assist in the Security request.
2. To attend to notifications of intruder alarm activations, responding accordingly.
3. Internal and external Security Patrols.
4. Front of House duties, to include greeting visitors to the hospital.
5. Car Park Patrols to ensure vehicles are parked in accordance with the Trust's Car Parking Policy.
An ideal candidate will have worked in a similar security role or within a healthcare environment previously. As this is a public-facing service, we are seeking individuals who enjoy customer interaction and have the ability to react to a changing and sometimes challenging environment.

Job responsibilities

If successful, this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this, it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

* Security related qualification or equivalent experience.
* Conflict resolution / physical intervention training
Knowledge
* Customer service / customer care
* Awareness of NHS hospital security policy
Experience
* Security-related experience
* Experience of working in a large organisation
* Experience using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel & Outlook
* Experience of working in an administrative role
* Experience of NHS Security
* SIA training for Security/Door Supervisor and CCTV
Skills & Abilities
* Able to work under pressure and prioritise work to meet deadlines
* Interview and report writing experience
* Experience of investigation
