Kemple View is situated in the beautiful Ribble Valley. It provides low secure and rehabilitation and recovery services to 90 male patients.
We strive to provide high quality care to all of our patients and received a rating of Outstanding in all five areas by the CQC in August 2019.
Our treatments are recovery focused and provided by an experienced multidisciplinary team. We offer a range of specific therapeutic programs and a variety of occupational therapy activities, both hospital and community based.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our team at Kemple View.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake initial assessments for service users admitted to the hospital to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, and work with the ward multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of the treatment and care pathway.
* Prepare discharge summaries, other reports, and associated documentation as necessary.
* Leadership of and participation in learning activities and clinical supervision.
* Participation in Clinical Governance activities, and account for contracted hours utilized in research, clinical audit, Continuing Professional Development, and other non-clinical duties as necessary and in a timely manner.
* Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that service users have access to appropriate clinical cover at all times, which will require participation in an on-call rota for the site.
* The post holder will be expected to support the service in delivering physical health care and potentially emergency treatment to service users.
* Undertake prescribing duties within the parameters of registration and competency.
* Share responsibility for providing phlebotomy services with other members of the clinical team as required.
* Undertake the risk assessment and adjustment of service user observation levels in conjunction with colleagues from the wider MDT.
* Ensure the continual provision of least restrictive care at all times.
* Arrange appropriate clinical tests and investigations and take responsibility for obtaining results and acting on them in a timely manner.
* Ensure physical observations by ward staff are carried out in accordance with instructions. Review physical observation findings and act upon them in a clinically appropriate manner.
* Ensure caseload has access to all physical healthcare screening and investigations.
* Act as a point of liaison with Visiting Consultants and external agencies such as GPs, Care Co-ordinators, and Case Managers.
Minimum Requirements:
To apply for this role, you'll need to be the following:
* Registered RMN with valid NMC registration
* MSc Advanced Practice (or working towards this)
* V300 Non-Medical Prescribing (or working towards this)
* Experience of working at a senior clinical nurse level.
* Experience of medication management.
* Experience of secure environment and interdisciplinary teamwork.
* Experience of report writing.
* Experience of undertaking and interpreting research.
