A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY What you'll be doing Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you can expect your working day to include the following Working colsely with the Chief Engineer to ensure that company maintenance service standards are adhered to Support the engineering team to execute the hotel's Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule for rooms, public areas, machinery and plant rooms. Establishing good lines of communicaiton with all departments and contractors Ensuring that all contractors and engineering staff adhere to the standard work safety procedures as per the company Health & Safety Management system and current legislation Procure engineering materials and services using the hotel's procurement system to minimuse any downtime of affected equipment or area and ensuring minimum stock levels are kept for consumables Providing technical support where required to engineers, all departments and contractors Day to day management of the engineering team, ensuring they are adequately trained and equipped to carry out their jobs effectively and in compliance with Health & Safety legislation Attend meetings as and when required and share relevant information with the engineering team Be available to cover the work of a shift engineer in an emergency or where there is no minuimum coverage. Futhermore, it is expected that the Engineering Supervisor will be available when called to the hotel in case of any Engineering Emergency. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements To succeed in the role of Engineering Supervisor, you will need the following qualities and skills: Working knowledge of building management systems (BMS) Working knowledge of maintenance management systems Working knowledge of health and safety and compliance Oral & written fluency in English.
