In this role you will be key in delivering the People Services Category (Childrens Services or Public Health) workplan of procurements and be involved in the entire procurement process. Working with commissioners, you will identify the requirements, be involved in the research and planning stage, go out to tender and lead during the evaluation, moderation and contract award stage.
You will have the ability to deliver multiple complex projects at the same time, can think imaginatively on the best ways to procure services and have exceptional attention to detail. You must be able to effectively communicate and negotiate at all levels, handle conflicting views and deal with sensitive situations.
You should possess excellent IT skills including the analysis of data and be able to use Excel and Word effectively. The candidate will be required to use the Councils e-tendering portal ProContract to run the tender projects and full training will be provided.
Derbyshire is a wonderful place to live, visit and work. There will be a requirement to work a minimum of 4 days per month in our offices in Matlock, in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. The rest of the time you will work from home.
