Garment Technologist Reporting to: Founder & Director PART-TIME POSITION - 2 to 3 days/week at our HQ in East London About KITRI — KITRI is a leading independent womenswear fashion brand, defining the space between fast fashion and contemporary brands. The Role — We are looking for passionate and skilled Garment Technologist to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a technical role working closely with design, operations and suppliers to ensure that our products consistently exceed expectations when it comes to fit, quality and performance. You will be responsible for maintaining the critical path and technical development of each product from design to QC when it arrives in our warehouse. You will proactively seek and review feedback on products to solve problems and improve performance. The successful candidate will be an experienced multi-product Garment Technologist and ideally will also have experience in knitwear. You are the customer, and customer-obsessed, always putting them at the heart of everything you do. You truly understand our customer and what makes them tick, and use this knowledge to deliver the best possible quality products to delight our customers. This is an exciting time of growth for KITRI and a great opportunity to join a close-knit, agile and hard-working team who loves to have fun along the way Responsibilities — Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure critical path is maintained. Work with the design team from the beginning of development through to technical packs to ensure products are realistic and achievable, identifying and resolving any potential issues. Lead fit sessions by working with design team to ensure excellent and consistent fit of product with the best construction methods. Create clear and precise workbooks for fit/make comments through text, pictures and diagrams. Ensure that all fit/make comments are communicated clearly to suppliers. Standardise key blocks with the support of design and operations team to increase speed & accuracy of samples and improve product performance Ensure workbooks are accurately updated after each fit meetings and range reviews. Approve test reports for bulk materials in line with the brand’s expectations. Maintain accurate records of approved fabric composition, wash care and measurement details for all products. Liaise with internal and external teams, including the QC team at the warehouse to understand and respond to quality issues, and to advise on future action. Consistently looking for ways to improve the quality of product to exceed our customers’ expectations. Lead regular feedback sessions with design team to generate new ideas and improve product performance. Maintain and develop strong link with the supply base. Potential visit to overseas suppliers. Skills and Qualifications — 3 years’ experience in a women’s wear Garment Technologist role Confident in garment construction & pattern cutting techniques Excellent fabric knowledge Enthusiastic, can-do attitude and always striving for excellence in every aspect of your work Experience working in a small team but work well autonomously, and be a team player Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving skills, proactive and take initiative Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
