We are pleased to be recruiting a Tooling & Process Engineer for our international client in the Tredegar area.
Job Purpose
The tooling engineer's responsibilities include enhancing existing designs and developing new ones, and providing technical support to clients. You should be able to collaborate with other engineers and manufacturing staff. To be successful as a tooling engineer, you should demonstrate superb attention to detail and be able to manage your time efficiently. Outstanding tooling engineers should be deadline-driven, meticulous, and consistently produce high-quality work.
Activities & Responsibilities
1. Using CAD or AutoCAD to analyse existing tooling designs and improve on them.
2. Developing new tooling designs as per client or project specifications.
3. Sharing designs with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback in the new designs.
4. Developing prototypes and testing new designs.
5. Carrying out quality assurance tests on new designs.
6. Traveling to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams.
7. Creating and designing new tooling drawings.
8. Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best deals.
9. Scheduling meetings with management and marketing personnel as required.
10. Support production with general engineering requirements.
Education & Qualifications
1. HNC/HND Toolmaking & Engineering qualification
