We are seeking a friendly, self- motivated, experienced and dynamic individual to join our team providing clinical care within our Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU) at Northumbria Hospital. The SSPAU includes a Paediatric Emergency Department and a Short Stay Unit, providing care for children and young people across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and expert clinical practitioner in the acute care of children, young people and their families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The Children's Emergency Care Unit and 14 bedded short stay facility caters for children aged 0-16 years who require emergency assessment and treatment with a 24 hour inpatient facility if required.
We also provide supportto medical staff in clinicand day case settingsat North Tyneside General Hospital andWansbeck General Hospital.
Successful candidates will be able to access preceptorship, clinical supervision and a suite of training and development opportunities to equip them to work in an emergency care environment and further their careers.

Job responsibilities
To assume responsibility for the devolved management of a ward/department, including the assessment of care needs, the implementation of evidence based programme of care in the absence of the Ward Manager.
To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsibility for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
To act as team leader and co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary care of a group of patients.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

1. First level live NMC Registered Nurse or Registered Mental Nurse.
2. PP126/127 or AC631 or D32/33 or A1 or equivalent.
