The Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance Manager and the UK Market Compliance Officer (MCO) leading the Compliance function in the UK and co-ordinates regulatory compliance for all the lines of business operated different legal entities within this market. The Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance manager in working with the business to ensure that there is a strong compliance culture in the UK. This includes working to ensure compliance with laws and regulations by briefing business partners and by supporting the development of appropriate policies and working with the business to develop these policies that can then be implemented by the business to meet requirements. The Compliance analyst also supports the Compliance manager to work with the consumer, merchant, and commercial businesses, as well as supporting functions, in the UK to ensure that they meet objectives in a compliant manner. The role requires interaction with all lines of business and functions in the UK, as well as working closely with GCO, Compliance and Ethics and other stakeholders at varying levels within the organisation. The Compliance Analyst will also support the Compliance Managers, Director and MCO on other compliance related activities such as Issues Management, second line monitoring, regulatory reporting and other activities as required. How will you make a difference in this role? Currently the position is responsible for leading on the following tasks: Customer Communications\: provide advice on marketing / financial promotions and customer communications such as letters, emails, marketing collaterals and website content. Providing the relevant teams with clear, accurate and timely feedback on submitted materials. Enterprise Incident Response Program\: provide timely reviews of company data breach incidents and drive regulatory reporting where appropriate Data Protection Impact Assessments\: provide support in completing assessments where necessary. 1st line procedural and project reviews\: support with reviews of 1st line procedures and new business projects providing teams with clear, accurate and timely regulatory compliance input as appropriate. Advisory\: Support the UK business through the handling of day-to-day queries received via the team's inbox Compliance Policies\: Ensures relevant compliance manuals, policies and procedures, are regularly updated and maintained. Compliance Program\: support with actions required by the UK MCO team in line with the Compliance Program such as Compliance Risk Assessment and New Product Approvals. Regulatory\: Assists the UK MCO and Team with the handling of regulatory matters including regulatory change activities, responding to regulatory requests, supporting with regulatory reporting where required, handling data protection incident inquiries, dealing directly with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with key regulatory requirements. Co-ordination & oversight\: Co-ordinates with Line of Business Compliance Officers in the UK by attending regular meetings to ensure sufficient 2nd line oversight of entire UK market Continuing education\: stays current on compliance topics by attending events, seminars and meetings arranged by law firms and professional associations. Other\: Manage interactions with other staff and control functions, and perform other tasks as requested or necessary from time to time to support the effective running of the overall UK Compliance program. This role may be subject to additional background verification checks. Minimum Qualifications: Experience of working in a risk, control or testing environment, or with critical governance programs. Experience and/or knowledge of regulation governing Data Privacy and Protection Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting, ability to drive business insights from the data and provide actionable steps. Strong influencing, communication and relationship skills. Excellent relationship building skills, with a record of accomplishment that clearly demonstrates cultural awareness and an ability to build lasting partnerships across local and market teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated across band levels and business acumen. Knowledge of UK regulatory environment. Must be self-motivated, dependable, adaptable and detail oriented with a proven ability to work independently or within a team environment. Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills and must be able to manage competing priorities under demanding deadline. Knowledge of company operating processes within Amex preferable.
