About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Planning Engineer to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business based in Teesside.
Joining a team of 4 Planners, this role will report into the Planning Manager and work on our ongoing projects focusing on substations but also supporting on OHL and cabling.
Location: Teesside
Hybrid - onsite 3 days a week.
What you'll be doing
As a Planning Engineer, you will:
* Plan, structure and lead the planning of the project programme of works
* Manage the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting
* Highlight both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders
* Identify programme risks and propose mitigation strategies
* Identify programme opportunities and propose capture strategies
Who we're looking for
You will have:
* Working knowledge of Primavera preferably on Power Transmission projects or industry related projects
* Operational experience of construction projects
* Knowledge of Project Management methodology
* Proven ability in working with operational teams to capture real time progress
* Good experience of Microsoft Excel
The following is desirable:
* Experience working in an NEC3 contract environment
* Hold the APMP or APM Practitioner Qualification
* Experience using Microsoft Project
