Oxford Cancer, Churchill Hospital, OX3 7LE About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Governance Officer to join Oxford Cancer, a city-wide research initiative and partnership between Oxford University, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, Thames Valley Cancer Alliance, and the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group. The role requires a dedicated Information Governance Officer to support the governance, risk management, and compliance elements of information governance-related activities across the GSK-Oxford Pre-Cancer & Immuno-Prevention Alliance (GO-PRECIsE) and related Oxford Cancer projects. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by undertaking and supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of audit, policy and training processes. A particular focus will be on supporting projects hosted by the GO-PRECIsE Data Platform to comply with policies, regulations, and good practice relevant to information governance and security. The post holder will be line-managed by the Strategic Data Platform Development Lead and will work closely with the University Information Security Team and the Divisional Data Privacy Coordinator. The post is based at Oxford Cancer, Churchill Hospital OX3 7LE and is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027. An early start date would be preferable for this role. About you You will hold a degree in data science or a relevant field. You will have a strong understanding of Information Governance and Security policies, with demonstrable experience in at least one of the following: ISO 27000 series, NHS Data Security Protection Toolkit, or managing information governance aspects of research projects. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of colleagues when dealing with problems or compliance issues verbally and in writing are essential, along with the ability to deliver security and governance training programmes and undertake information governance and security audits, or similar assurance activities. You will have a disciplined and professional approach to work, the ability to work unsupervised and the ability to contribute as an effective member of the team to deliver team oriented goals.
