Hospital Administrator | Wards | Part time, Permanent | Southampton | Competitive salary plus fantastic benefits
Spire Southampton Hospital is looking for an experienced administrator to join the team on a permanent basis. Spire Southampton Hospital offers world-class care within beautiful surroundings and is part of one of the UK’s most respected private hospital groups.
*This is a 22.5 hour per week post, working 3 days – Monday to Friday
Spire Southampton Hospital attracts patients from across the South of England and internationally. We deliver some of the best cardiac surgery results in the country. Our Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team offer peace of mind for our wide range of treatments.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Welcoming patients onto the ward and escorting them to their room.
* Admitting patients in the computer, ensuring accurate data collection.
* Acting as the point person for all enquiries on the ward.
* Carrying out various admin tasks, including filing of patient notes.
* Compliance with forms and processes.
* Discharging patients onto the computer system, ensuring accuracy of all information.
* Managing the hospital switchboard in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring all calls or enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
* Undertaking various clerical duties including checking of bed status reports and ordering and distribution of newspapers.
Who we're looking for:
* A personable individual with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Good basic PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Great communication skills at all levels.
* Experience in a customer service environment is desirable.
* Previous experience in administration is essential.
