The Buckingham School’s vision is Success for All; success for our students, our staff and our community. By joining us, you will be part of an establishment that seeks to develop individuals holistically, through our seven school virtues, where personal responsibility and self-improvement underpin all that we do. We are a student-centred school that recognises that our staff have the authority, expertise and passion to bring our vision to life.
Due to an upcoming maternity leave, we seek to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of English. We are looking for an innovative and committed classroom practitioner who can teach exceptional English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and has the experience and drive to continually improve the subject. The right candidate will raise standards of student attainment and achievement, monitor and support student progress and hold high expectations of themselves, their team and their students.
This is an exciting period to join The Buckingham School; we have just completed 2.5 million pounds of renovation work within the school, with more remodelling and renovation of the school premises planned in the near future. We have seen steady improvement in all areas of the school over the past three years and we will continue in our quest to become the community school of choice within the locality. We are ambitious, oversubscribed and our students are fantastic to work with.
Applications are welcome from ECTs as well as experienced teachers. We have a proven track record of support and development and an excellent ECT package is available.
In return, we will offer you:

Ofsted report
“Sixth-form learners’ achievement has improved because teaching is better in practically all subjects. Learners are very good role models for younger pupils and contribute much to school life. Pastoral care, especially in Year 7 and for those who have special educational needs or disability, is very supportive. Practically all pupils enjoy school and behave well. They all feel safe. The school prepares pupils very well for their future health and safety. Career advice is good. Pupils successfully learn about spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues blended with an understanding of citizenship and British values. In many lessons, pupils work extremely hard and are totally absorbed by high-quality and challenging teaching.”
