Manufacturing Team Manager We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well established manufacturing company based in Salisbury. We are urgently seeking a skilled, hands on team manager to join our client’s busy manufacturing team. Role definition : To lead and mentor the team in order to achieve all production targets in line with customer Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD) expectations and company policies & procedures. Ensure effective material expediting is carried out aligned to customer requirements (including internal customers) and area ‘turn around’ targets are met. The successful candidate would lead a team of approx. 6-12 employees depending on scope of responsibility. Prime Responsibilities Ensure correct allocation of resources in line with production/customer requirements. Maintain the company’s quality objectives in line with the requirements of TS16949:2016 and ISO9001:2015. Review all manufacturing processes within your area of responsibility with the review acting as a basis for the development of Continuous Improvement activities. Monitor and manage manufacturing direct input hours and reduce/eliminate premium rate working (when and where possible and in line with a labour to sales target of <13%). Monitor and manage the team’s absenteeism in line with current Key Performance Indicator (KPI – <3%). Ensure adherence to manufacturing ‘build plans’ and ‘chase lists. Receive, distribute and prioritise, as necessary, all works orders as issued by the Logistics Department ensuring that regular order progress reports are provided to both the Logistics Manager and the Assemblies Production Manager. Develop all team members by identifying and recommending methods of addressing training and development needs. Carry out annual performance appraisals, maintain skills matrices and individual training plans as necessary. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities. Generate and maintain manufacturing KPI’s (to be posted within areas of responsibility). Ensure effective and regular communication with the Planning Manager and Production Manager General Responsibilities Participate in team meetings as required Conform to Company health & safety, environmental and personnel procedures. Participate in 8D investigations and close out requirements. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a strong track record in successfully leading manufacturing teams. Previous CNC experience would be beneficial in this role
