Job Purpose: The SHEQ Manager at Recyclus Group Ltd leads the organisation’s efforts in managing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) responsibilities across LiBatt Recycling, Halo Battery Recycling, and Recyclus Group as a whole. The role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, oversees health and safety, and drives the implementation of robust management systems to uphold the organisation’s sustainability goals and legal obligations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Environmental Compliance and Management Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits for LiBatt Recycling and Halo Battery Recycling. Maintain and manage the Approved Battery Treatment Operator (ABTO) status. Manage the application and administration of Transfrontier Shipment of Waste (TFS) / International Waste Shipments (IWS) notifications. Complete all environmental reporting related to pollution and battery management. Oversee waste pre-acceptance and acceptance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 2. Health, Safety, and Governance Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies across all operations. Identify and mitigate ESG risks within operational frameworks. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations. 3. Management Systems Oversight Manage and maintain ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards, as well as the CMS V5 Management System. Lead audits and certification processes to ensure ongoing compliance. Monitor system effectiveness and implement continuous improvements. 4. Reporting and Communication Prepare and submit all necessary reports to regulatory bodies. Act as the primary point of contact for ESG matters with internal and external stakeholders. 5. Leadership and Collaboration Provide strategic guidance on ESG initiatives to align with corporate goals. Work collaboratively with teams to foster a culture of compliance and sustainability. Key Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks. Expertise in health and safety management. Experience with ISO and CMS standards implementation and maintenance. Excellent organisational and reporting skills. Strategic thinking and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation. Qualifications: Essential: Significant experience in waste management and environmental permitting. Lead Auditor certification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001. NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. Preferred: A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field (relevant experience will be considered in place of formal education). Experience in managing ABTO processes (beneficial but not essential).
