A successful civil engineering and utility services company based in Wakefield. Our projects encompass general infrastructure and development initiatives, with a particular focus on the water industry.
Job Description:
As an Estimator specializing in civil projects, you will be responsible for compiling detailed estimates and proposals for our projects, particularly within the water sector. This includes both infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes, such as pipelines, sewer diversions, storm tanks, treatment works, and pumping stations. Additionally, you will be involved in highways and environmental improvement schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed priced estimates for tenders, often based on an outline design.
- Revise prices as required based on design iterations.
- Compile a take-off and bill of quantities for work items on each scheme.
- Identify risks and opportunities for each scheme, clarifying inclusions and exclusions.
- Develop an initial program of works to support the estimate for each scheme.
- Maintain an up-to-date file and archive of priced schemes.
- Keep an updated price book of rates.
- Attend and present the proposed tender at tender sign-off meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in civil engineering.
- Proficient in using Conquest, MS Project, and P6 programs.
- Good knowledge and skill in MS Word and Excel.
