Systems Administrator (Linux) | Opportunity to move into a DevOps role | Cheltenham / Gloucester | Up to £60,000 + Bonus | DV Clearance Required
MERITUS are working with an expanding national security consultancy looking for experienced Linux Systems Administrators with an aspiration to grow their DevOps knowledge to join their customer Ops team.
If successful you will join an experienced team working to design, build & maintain critical infrastructure for national security customers with a focus on Linux systems. You will work closely with customer teams to maintain the integrity of Linux based systems (on-prem, VM's & cloud hosted).
They're looking for individuals with aspirations to grow their DevOps / Platform engineering experience & have strong training budgets & facilities to facilitate personal growth.
They're based in Cheltenham & require candidates to hold active DV security clearance.
Main Responsibilities:
* Working closely with customer teams to design, build & maintain Linux infrastructure (on-prem, VM's & cloud hosted solutions).
* Automating infrastructure services using a variety of languages (Shell, Python, Terraform, Bash).
* Training & upskilling in DevOps / Platform Engineering with a view to moving into a DevOps capability.
Skills Required:
* In depth experience in Linux systems administration (on-prem & VM's).
* Exposure to virtualisation / container solutions (VMware / Docker).
* Active DV Security Clearance.
Desirable Skills:
Exposure to the following would be beneficial but not required:
* Scripting (Python, Bash, Shell or similar).
* Exposure to AWS administration.
* CI / CD pipleines (Jenkins, Git, Octopus).

* Salary up to £60,000
