About this job An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Management Support Assistant within our Finance Department. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the Management Support team which supports the Finance Directorate of UNISON. The post will assist the Director of Finance in co-ordinating and supporting work related to the duties of the Director of Finance and Finance Directorate. The postholder will be required to work as part of a team, working closely with all internal union functions including its National Executive Council, senior management as well as national departments and regions. The role also involves working with external bodies such as External Auditors, Unity Trust Bank and the Certification Office. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive information systems and assist in developing key administrative procedures across the directorate. The post will be responsible for the management of the Director of Finances calendars as well as co-ordination of meetings and events on their behalf. You will need to be fully competent in using Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Excel, Word, SharePoint etc. A good general level of education including GCSE (A-C) in Maths and English is required and you will be an excellent communicator who is able to liaise and deal with a range of issues and correspondence appropriately. You will need to have the ability to work unsupervised, within a small team, and have a willingness to help others at times of high workload.
