Position: Deputy Supported Lodgings Services Manager
Location: Wigan
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours - Including participation in a rota of staff to provide on-call services per week.
Salary: £33,906

About the Role
Working under the direction and support of a Regional Prevention Services Managers, the Deputy Service Manager will lead a team of client-facing workers to deliver effective and high-quality services that strive to prevent homelessness. You will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.
The postholder will be accountable for the day-to-day aspects of service delivery in line with the organisations expectations and procedures. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery of our Supported Lodgings service, including the line management of client-facing workers, supporting the to deliver high-quality services.
Your work will be underpinned by the organisations Endeavour model of assets based, psychologically informed delivery, the aim of which is to ensure that every client leaves a the service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self determining in their lives.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensure every client accessing Supported Lodgings service is welcomed, kept safe and has a suitable support plan for longer term accommodation and support
2. You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for engagement in Supported Lodgings Services
3. Develop and deliver key partnerships with referral agencies and support related projects
4. Work with the Regional Prevention Services Manager to continuously review and develop the services under your responsibility
5. You will have responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for Supported Lodgings’ guests and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.
6. Work with the Regional Prevention Services Manager to monitor project budgets and petty cash systems
7. Participate in internal/external local and national meetings and supervision meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary
8. Lead on the safeguarding of all clients accessing your services including clients who are not in receipt of support from other staff
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
9. Demonstrable experience of working to improve the lives of children, young people and families
10. Understanding and knowledge of the challenges young people face who are at risk of homelessness
11. Management and leadership experience
12. Experience of working with and managing volunteers
13. Experience of working with our client group
14. Experience of effective internal stakeholder management
15. Experience of developing productive relationships with partner organisations
16. Knowledge of Safeguarding practice and the application to supporting vulnerable children, young people and adults
17. Knowledge of Health and Safety and anti-discriminatory working practices, and the implications of both in the working environment
18. An understanding of budget management and financial control
19. Able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
