Job summary The post-holder will report to The Catering Manager and will deputise for the Catering Manager on all catering aspects of the food service to ensure that the delivery of a high quality and cost- effective catering service for patients is provided. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating, planning and overseeing tasks and operations within the catering team covering activities across East and West Sussex ensuring that services delivered are performance monitored, quality assured and compliant and that the internal operational staff are able to effectively deliver the required care through patient feeding. The postholder will work with the Facilities Managers, Facilities Supervisors and Clinical Managers to ensure the delivery of a compliant catering service and manage the production processes ensuring that all control procedures are consistently followed together with ensuring stock is controlled and costs minimised. Deputise in the absence of The Catering Manager This post is to cover East Sussex - Hailsham/Eastbourne/Hastings Main duties of the job o Development of relationships with clinical managers and patients to ensure and promote Trust confidence with food service and the Catering department and to discuss dietary requirements submitted by patients to ensure the correct food is provided. o Deliver managerial professional control of food service, to ensure patients are offered a choice of nutritious meals and snacks, appropriate for their health needs and religious dietary requirement and general facilities services and contracts to a high standard within designated area of responsibility.
