Join the West Middlesex University Hospital Blood Sciences team and elevate your career to new heights! We are on the lookout for a passionate, HCPC-registered Haematology & Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist to become an integral part of our dynamic team.
This Band 6 position is your gateway to working with cutting-edge technology including Abbott Alinity HQ Haematology analysers, Stago StarMax2 Haemostasis analysers, Alifax ESR Technology, and Immucor Blood Grouping analysers.

Our operation is 24/7, ensuring the continuity and quality of patient care, and you will play a vital role in this essential service, potentially participating in our night worker rota.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To work with biomedical scientists and clinical scientists in the provision of a comprehensive and effective Pathology centralised referral unit service for North West London Pathology, as directed by the Head of the Department.
2. To participate in the efficient handling, processing and analysis of samples in the laboratory, under supervision.
3. To maintain effective records of all activities and procedures, and to contribute towards the maintenance of the laboratory's quality system.
4. To check, keep clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
5. To carry out supervised laboratory procedures in all sections of the laboratory, as directed by the Head of the Unit and senior scientific staff.
6. To undergo appropriate teaching and training as directed and as necessary in order to maintain HPC registration and to maintain suitable records of all training activities undertaken.

NWLP Induction:
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
